Performance Test – Trading Platform – Stock Exchange
The role consisted of devising test approach, scripting, and pipe cleaning of substantial dataset to simulate volume and variety of trading activity. It was delivered on time and to a high standard.
Skills used: MS Project, Excel-XML transformation, SQL server, C#, Rational ClearCase.

Functional and Technical Test – Trading Platform – Stock Exchange
The role consisted of devising test approach, scripting, and executing a full range of functional and technical tests to cover all functionality of trading system. It was delivered on time with a team of 6 highly inexperienced analysts.
Skills used: MS Project, Excel, Visual Basic .NET, SQL on Tandem.

Acceptance Test (UAT) – Network – Stock Exchange
The role consisted of providing conformance and migration testing for customer of stock exchange. It involved management of a team of 12 analysts in shift-work, and continuous liaison with client and all major European financial institutions, in addition to a number of weekend migration exercises.
Skills used: Large-scale coordination, VB, SQL on Tandem.

Test Process Change – Settlement System – Investment Bank
The role consisted of managing a rollout process change for a niche (ETD) area of investment bank. IT involved devising a general test approach, implementation and training in TestDirector in an environment of global stakeholders. The first code-release using the new rollout process was successful.
Skills used: TestDirector, thrice-daily global coordination.

Design and Test – Account Workflow – Investment Bank
The role consisted of delivering an Anti Money Laundering module for a global account opening software. It involved a global approach in drawing up legal requirements, design of module, and co-ordination of test effort, through functional and UAT. The programme was successfully rolled out after a significant training exercise.
Skills used: TestDirector, global coordination of legal expertise.

Design and Build – Reporting Process – Clearing House
The role consisted of a transformation to existing (manual) reporting processes into an Oracle framework. Great progress was made but project was terminated prior to implementation.

Design and Test – Trading Platform – Stock Exchange
The role consisted of designing test scenarios, writing pseudo-code, and delivering comprehensive test approaches. It involved extending existing functionality into a highly complex cross-exchange environment of time-conversion. It was delivered on schedule and to a high quality.
Skills used: IGrafx flow diagrams, COBOL, SQL.

Design and Build – Web Application – Investment Bank
The role consisted of code development and fixes for search functionality of application. It involved client-facing interaction and training of further resources.
Skills used included: ASP.NET, VB.NET, Visual Studio.NET, XML, XSLT, Oracle 8, PL/SQL, Rational ClearCase.

Prototype Design – ASP UI Web Application – Retail Bank
The role consisted of design and build of a prototype UI web application for account-opening. Under a considerable time constraint, I designed and build in total 22 websites in three weeks.
Skills used included: HTML, ASP.NET, Javascript, VisualStudio.NET, MS Frontpage, Macromedia Flash MX.

Application Management – B2B Portal – Retail Bank
The role consisted of the administration and management of six MS Access databases. The project was an outsourcing deal, which involved relocating a large team and hardware to a new site.
Skills used included: MS Access, team management.

Data Migration – Trading Platform – Stock Exchange
The role consisted of preparatory analysis and testing, and to perform the weekend rehearsal and “go-live” activities. It involved a series of functional and technical tests on the system in order to ensure that the application had been installed and configured correctly. The implementation was successful, with no adverse impact on London market participants.
